Dr. Sarah Katz-Lavigne has successfully defended her PhD!
On January 23rd, 2020, at the University of Groningen in the northern Netherlands, Dr. Sarah Katz-Lavigne with the chair group Sociology of Africa successfully defended her PhD thesis, « Qui ne risque rien, n’a rien »: Conflict, Distributional Outcomes, and Property Rights in the Copper- and Cobalt-Mining Sector of the DRC. Dr. Katz-Lavigne's degree is a joint degree (cotutelle) from the University of Groningen with Carleton University in Canada. Her supervisors Dr. Jana Hönke (University of Bayreuth) and Professor Jean Daudelin (Carleton University) were present in addition to committee members from the University of Groningen, the University of Liège, and Ghent University.
