The Sociology of Africa chair group welcomes its newest member! Jan Sändig is a postdoctoral researcher in Peace and Conflict Studies and member of the INFRAGLOB project at the Chair for Sociology of Africa.

Jan's research centers on social mobilization, protest, and violence in sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically, he has been studying the varied means, framings, dynamics, and outcomes of contentious politics from the local to the transnational arena.
