Subject to the final funding commitment from the BMBF, a postdoc position (m/f/d) is to be filled at the Chair of Sociology of Africa from 01. 04. 2022 onwards. The post is limited to four years. Provided that the relevant requirements are met, a habilitation is conceivable.

The position is located in the BMBF-funded competence network “Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict” (a joint network between the Center for Conflict Research of Philipps-Universität Marburg, University of Erfurt, the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute Freiburg and the University of Bayreuth) at the University of Bayreuth. The research area of the network, which is responsible for the University of Bayreuth, focuses on the persistence of postcolonial hierarchies in the strategies of externally induced security governance and peacebuilding.
